Amazon has officially announced that its 2025 Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales event will run for 12 days, from November 20 to December 1. This year, a powerful trend is emerging as a key to success on the platform: sellers with "Climate Pledge Friendly" certification are set to receive significant advantages in traffic and sales.

Data from the recent Fall Prime Day sale revealed a powerful new trend for sellers with the "Climate Pledge Friendly" green badge. These sellers experienced a sales increase of between 43% and 76% without raising their advertising spend. Additionally, their advertising cost of sales (ACOS) saw a significant drop.

Exclusive Traffic for Certified Products

Amazon is actively rewarding these certified sellers with substantial visibility. Certified products gain access to 22 exclusive, free traffic entry points on the site, which include placements in search results and on dedicated deal pages. Data indicates that products with the green badge see, on average:

  • A 13.3% lift in revenue.
  • A 12.5% increase in sales volume.
  • The ability to command a 10-20% price premium.

Black Friday and Cyber Monday Boost

For the upcoming Black Friday and Cyber Monday event, Amazon is reportedly increasing its support for these sellers even further. Certified sellers are expected to receive an additional 30% exposure boost. This increased visibility is anticipated to lower their CPC (cost-per-click) costs by approximately 15%, giving them a significant competitive edge during the year's busiest shopping period.

How to Enroll in the Climate Pledge Friendly Program

Sellers looking to gain this advantage must have their products certified. The Climate Pledge Friendly program highlights products that meet sustainability standards through collaboration with trusted third-party certifications and Amazon's own certifications.

Program Benefits Products that qualify are identified with a leaf icon on product pages. On average, Climate Pledge Friendly products see a +12% sales lift and a +10% increase in glance views within the first year of joining the program.

Qualification Criteria and Enrollment Process To enroll a product, it must have an approved third-party certification or be eligible for one of Amazon's certifications, such as Compact by Design, Pre-owned Certified, or Plant-Based Fiber Blended. The validation process varies by certification type.

  • For qualifying third-party certifications: Sellers must complete the Climate Pledge Friendly product template and share it with their certifier, who then provides the data to Amazon.
    • USDA Organic: Submit the completed product template through the Selling Partner Support page (up to 20 ASINs per case) and include "USDA Organic" in the subject line.
    • EU Organic: The product template is not required. Instead, submit your products through the Selling Partner Support page (up to 20 ASINs per case) and include "EU Organic" in the subject line.
    • Textile Certifications (GOTS, GRS, etc.): A specific enrollment process applies to textile certifications.
  • For Amazon-developed certifications:
    • Compact by Design: Sellers should review the certification details and ensure their catalog information is correct. If a product meets the requirements but lacks the badge, it can be submitted for review via Selling Partner Support.
    • Plant-Based Fiber Blended: Submit a completed product template along with the corresponding certificates.

Excluded Categories Certain product categories are not eligible for the program, even if they have a qualifying certification. These include, but are not limited to, aerosols, beef, books, e-cigarettes, plastic bottled water, and single-use coffee pods (unless Cradle-to-Cradle certified).
