The General Administration of Customs of China (GACC) has announced new regulations to strengthen the inspection of certain import and export goods. According to Announcement No. 150 of 2025, starting August 1, 2025, the GACC will conduct spot checks on goods that are not already subject to mandatory inspection. This move aims to protect consumer rights and ensure the safety and quality of products.
The inspections will be carried out under the Law on Import and Export Commodity Inspection and its implementation rules. The process will follow the guidelines outlined in the Measures for Spot Checks on Import and Export Commodities (originally issued by the former General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection, and Quarantine, and later revised by the GACC).

This announcement will replace GACC Announcement No. 163 of 2024, which will no longer be in effect after August 1, 2025.
