Updated Delivery Rules Regarding Amazon SFP & Premium in 2025

Simplified Updates to Seller Fulfilled Prime (SFP) Starting June 29, 2025.

Amazon is making changes to the Seller Fulfilled Prime (SFP) program to help sellers meet customer expectations and maintain the quality of the Prime experience. Here’s what you need to know:

To join SFP, sellers must pass a 30-day trial. Starting June 29, you’ll only get three chances per year to pass this trial. If you don’t pass, you can try again as long as you meet the program’s requirements. However, you can’t graduate from the trial during busy shopping periods like Prime Day or Black Friday. If you complete the trial during these times, your Prime badge will only appear after the event ends.

Once enrolled in SFP, you must ship at least 100 Prime packages every month and do so consistently. If you don’t, Amazon will limit how many Prime orders you can receive until you meet this requirement again. If your performance falls below standards, Amazon may disable your Prime offers. You can leave Prime disabled temporarily to fix the issues without further penalties, but you should only re-enable it when you’re confident you can meet the requirements.

Sellers must classify their products correctly by size and category. Repeated or intentional misclassification can result in losing Prime privileges. If major disruptions like hurricanes affect your ability to fulfill orders, Amazon will protect your eligibility and exempt you from penalties for late deliveries during those times.

If you receive a performance warning, you have two weeks to appeal. Appeals must include specific details, such as order IDs, tracking numbers, and evidence supporting your case. You can only submit three appeals per quarter, but successful appeals won’t count toward this limit.

To avoid late delivery penalties, use Amazon’s automated shipping tools. These tools calculate accurate delivery dates and provide reliable shipping options. If you ship on time using these tools, Amazon will protect your performance metrics even if delays occur.

Stay prepared for busy periods, monitor your performance regularly, and use Amazon’s tools to ensure you meet SFP requirements. By doing so, you can maintain your Prime eligibility and grow your sales.
