Amazon Launches New Tool to Help Sellers Understand Fees

Amazon has introduced a new Fee Explainer tool to help sellers better understand the fees charged to their accounts. This tool provides clear definitions, detailed calculations, and explanations for each fee type, making it easier for sellers to track and manage costs.

What Does the Fee Explainer Tool Do?

Definitions: A clear explanation of each fee type.
Relevant Attributes/Variables: The factors that influence the fee amount.
Calculations: A detailed breakdown of how the fee is calculated.
The move responds to longstanding and widespread feedback from sellers about the complexity and opacity of the fee structure.

Fee Types Covered by the Tool

The Fee Explainer currently includes the following fee types:

Subscription Fees
Referral Fees
Variable Closing Fees
Fixed Closing Fees
Refund Administration Fees
Customer Return Fees
High-Return Rate Processing Fees
Removal Fees
Disposal Fees

Amazon plans to expand the tool to cover additional fee types later this year.

A detailed description of the fee amount can be viewed in the transaction view of the payment dashboard.
