Amazon has officially announced the expansion of its Amazon Warehousing and Distribution (AWD) network on the West Coast, offering sellers increased storage capacity and new opportunities to save on inbound logistics. With bookings opening in August 2025 and a limited-time promotion running through the end of the year, sellers who meet the updated requirements stand to benefit significantly.
New Facility Requirements for West Coast Shipments
To qualify for the promotional rates and ensure smooth processing, sellers must follow specific shipment guidelines for the new West Coast AWD facilities.
For Floor-Loaded Shipments:
- Maximum of 10 SKUs per shipment
- Minimum of 50 boxes per shipment
For Palletized Shipments:
- Single-SKU pallets only
- Maximum pallet height of 60 inches (55 inches for boxes plus 5 inches for pallet)
- Pallet dimensions must be 40 x 48 inches, with 4-way access, wooden pallets only
- Pallet weight must be under 1,500 lbs
- Pallets must be shrink-wrapped with no overhang
- Boxes must be stacked uniformly and consistently
Important: Small Parcel Deliveries (SPD) will not be accepted at these new facilities.
Inbound Processing Fees and Promotional Pricing
Amazon is offering a special inbound processing rate for shipments that meet the new facility requirements and are received within the designated promotional period.
Promotional Rate: $1.00 per box
- Applies to qualifying shipments received between September 1 and December 31, 2025
- Only valid for shipments to the new West Coast facilities
Standard Rate: $1.35 per box
- Applies to all other AWD facilities and shipments outside the promotional period
Non-Qualifying Rate: $2.50 per box
- Applies to shipments that do not meet the stated requirements
- Examples include mixed-SKU pallets, incorrect pallet dimensions, improper stacking, or discrepancies between the shipment contents and the shipment order
- Non-compliant shipments may be rejected
Key Dates
- Booking opens: Early August 2025
- Facilities begin receiving: Early September 2025
- Promotion period: September 1 to December 31, 2025
How to Qualify
To take advantage of the promotional rate, sellers must:
- Book shipments to the “West Coast Palletizable (US)” region in Seller Central
- Ensure shipments meet all floor-loaded or palletized requirements
- Confirm that shipment contents exactly match the shipment order
- Ensure shipments are received by December 31, 2025
